A nationally recognized author, speaker, and consultant, Chris Jahnke has spent twenty-five years helping women leaders run for public office and drive social change. As a speech and debate coach, Chris has worked with more women candidates and elected officials than any other trainer.
Chris was a speech coach to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns and former First Lady Michelle Obama and has worked with nearly all current and former Democratic women governors. In 2016, her advice for candidates was featured in Politico, NPR, US NEWS, WASHINGTONIAN, Elle, and Vice News. Chris has been a backstage speech coach at five Democratic National Conventions.
President and founder of Positive Communications, Chris has provided speech and media training since 1991 advising women leaders at Amnesty International, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Black Lives Matter, Emily’s List, Planned Parenthood, and Union of Concerned Scientists. As a consultant to the Women’s Media Center she leads the acclaimed Progressive Women’s Voices training program.
Chris is the author of The Well-Spoken Woman: Your Guide to Looking and Sounding Your Best (Prometheus Books, 2011) and her second book The Well-Spoken Woman Speaks Out will be published in 2018.
